Facial Acupuncture for Wrinkles (in a Nutshell)…

How Acupuncture Treats Wrinkles

-Wrinkles form when collagen becomes weakened in the skin’s dermis layer and eventually folds over on itself

(like a piece of paper folded too many times makes a sharp crease).

-Many tiny Acupuncture needles are inserted into the face. These create minor micro injuries to the targeted (wrinkle) area.

-These micro injuries stimulate the body to build collagen in the area, repairing the dermis in a sort of defense mechanism, resulting in improved elasticity with smoother, more toned skin overall.

It is similar to how muscle fibers break down with tiny tears after lifting weights.

The repairing process takes place afterwards, especially during sleep as the muscle fibers build back up in strength.

Pretty cool, huh?

Collagen Production

Facial Acupuncture prompts the body to build collagen in the face.

This improves elasticity and decreases appearance of fine lines and wrinkles,

such as crow’s feet around the eyes and smile lines “parentheses” lines also known as nasolabial fold (Latin for nose-lip fold),

marionette lines (lines that extend down from the mouth to the jaw), and forehead wrinkles.

Aleesha D Acupuncture uses the Mei Zen protocol in which more than 50 very tiny needles are inserted into the face. This protocol also treats the entire body. Needles are added in the hands and feet, legs and arms to treat the whole individual as she presents. So, digestion, energy, sleep, hormonal support and more can be treated at the same time!
